Major Policies and Issues

EDUCATION

Over the past legislative session, the caucus has worked to address the most pressing issues facing our school communities. From keeping students safe to ensuring our schools have the faculty, staff, and funding needed to deliver a top-notch education.

REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS

First and foremost, we are committed to ensuring that access to reproductive health care services remains legal, safe and accessible here in New Jersey.

GUN SAFETY

Our goal is to continue leading the nation on fair and robust common-sense gun safety laws. We took decisive action and established a framework to keep dangerous weapons out of places like hospitals, daycare centers, and places where alcohol is being served.

Combating Food Insecurity

With over 1 million residents struggling to put food on the table – an issue exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic – the Assembly will continue to address food insecurity on behalf of NJ families.

Making NJ More Affordable

“Life in New Jersey is expensive, and we need to figure out how to make it more affordable again.” – Speaker Craig J. Coughlin

Supporting Small Businesses

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. Bolstering their resiliency and promoting their success after recent economic hardships will be an ongoing priority for the Assembly Democrats.
