McKeon: Christie’s DEP Shows Blatant Disregard for Environment Once Again; Thankfully They’ll be Gone in Four Days

Assemblyman John McKeon released the following statement in response to the letter sent Friday by Gov. Christie's Department of Environmental Protection stating that they intend to willfully ignore legislation he sponsored to protect the environmentally sensitive Highlands region.

"This is another quintessential example of the Christie administration's blatant disregard for the environment and its impact on the health and well-being of the residents of this state.

"This attempt to ignore the will of the Legislature would be outrageous if the Christie administration didn't have one foot out the door already.

"Thankfully, we'll have a new Governor in Phil Murphy come Tuesday, one who is committed to protecting our natural resources rather than appeasing the highest bidder."
