Menendez, Conaway & Singleton to Host South Jersey Job Fair
Event Will Bring Together Over 40 Major Vendors Offering Full & Part Time Positions & AssistanceU.S. Senator Robert Menendez and Assemblymen Herb Conaway, Jr, MD & Assemblyman Troy Singleton will host the South Jersey Job Fair on September 10 with over 40 vendors offering a wide-range of employment opportunities and services for job seekers.
The event will take place on Monday, Sept. 10, from 2-6:00 PM at the Enterprise Center at Burlington County College, Pemberton Room, 3331 Route 38, Mount Laurel, NJ.
"I am proud to co-host this event for the benefit of our Southern New Jersey residents. In today's challenging economy, our constituents deserve every resource available as they navigate through the unpredictable job market," said Menendez (D-NJ). "I applaud our local businesses for creating opportunities that will help to bridge the gap between our talented job-seekers as our economy continues to grow and improve."
All of the participating vendors have at least three current openings for which they are hiring, including full-time, part-time, seasonal positions and internships. The lawmakers noted that they are not allowing vendors that only offer 100 percent commission jobs.
"This is a great opportunity for job seekers to do some one-stop shopping, so to speak," said Conaway (D-Burlington). "Employers on hand will be offering a wide range of positions for prospective candidates with various skills and interests. In addition to job opportunities, there will also be a number of services being offered to help people weather a myriad of issues that may have been brought on by the economy."
"In this economy, we are trying to do everything possible to help constituents get back on their feet and find much-needed employment," said Singleton (D-Burlington). ""This is a great opportunity for South Jersey residents to see what some of the major employers in our area have to offer. Anyone in the job market should not miss out on this opportunity."
In addition to employers, there will also be a number of community resources on hand to offer assistance in the following areas: federal constituent services, state labor issues, personal financial counseling, budgeting, mortgage delinquency, debt management, bankruptcy assistance, student loan information, and resume writing/interviewing tips.
Attendees should bring copies of their resume for distribution. Professional attire is highly recommended.
Job seekers should register for the event by Sept. 7at: http://bit.ly/SJJobFair. Please call the office of Assemblyman Singleton at 856-234-2790 with any questions.
