Greenwald & Lampitt Applaud Hurricane Sandy Recovery Efforts, Urge Charitable Donations
Praising Obama, Christie Leadership, Legislators Urge New Jerseyans to Come Together to RebuildAssembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt (both D-Camden/Burlington) today praised the efforts to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, led by President Obama, Governor Christie, and state and local officials of both parties.
"The President, the Governor and local leaders at all levels in New Jersey deserve high praise for putting people over politics in working to help our state recover from this storm," said Greenwald. "Their hard work and tireless efforts, as well as the efforts of first responders and volunteers, to help New Jersey families devastated by Hurricane Sandy reflect the best spirit of our state and our country. With so many of our fellow citizens losing everything, I ask those who are able to call the state's volunteer hotline or donate to the Red Cross's relief efforts. Together, we will rebuild our communities and come back even stronger."
"I applaud the efforts that the President and the Governor have made in the past few days--demonstrating true leadership in helping New Jersey families get back on their feet," said Lampitt. "The damage caused by Hurricane Sandy is truly breathtaking, but I know the people of New Jersey will come together regardless of political stripe to rebuild our communities. I urge those who have the means to help to open their hearts and their wallets by donating to the recovery efforts, such as those undertaken by the Red Cross."
The legislators' Hurricane Sandy Resource Center, launched yesterday, can be found at www.lougreenwald.com/sandy and www.pamlampitt.com/sandy . To donate to the Red Cross, residents can call 1-800-RED-CROSS, text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation, or visit www.redcross.org.
