Greenwald: House Republicans Not Fit to Lead
Blasts Decision to Hold Off on Sandy Relief Bill
(TRENTON) - Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-Camden/Burlington) released the following statement Wednesday on the failure of the House of Representatives to vote on the Sandy relief package desperately needed by New Jersey residents and businesses:
"New Jersey has always stood tall and helped others in their time of similar need, so residents and business owners rightfully expect the same when they're facing difficult and uncertain times following Sandy.
"Speaker Boehner's failure to post the Sandy relief bill is an absolute disgrace and an abandonment of the commitment he holds to put all of America first. If the House Republicans cannot handle a basic task such as helping a swath of the country rebuild after a natural disaster, then they are not fit to lead. It's that simple.
"Speaker Boehner and his radical Republican allies need to rethink this decision and put this bill up today. New Jersey deserves nothing less."
