Assembly & Senate Environment Committees To Hold Joint Hearing On Progress Of Sandy Recovery
Residents Impacted By Sandy Encouraged to Attend, Provide Insight Into Pace of Rebuilding Efforts as One-Year Anniversary of Storm ApproachesTRENTON - The Senate Environment and Energy Committee and the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee will hold a joint hearing on Monday to hear from members of the public and invited guests on the progress of Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts in New Jersey.
The committees have invited Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Richard E. Constable III and Marc Ferzan, executive director of the Governor's Office of Recovery and Rebuilding, to speak on the progress of recovery efforts. The hearing will be held Monday September 30, 2013 at 10 AM in Committee Room 4, First Floor, Statehouse Annex, Trenton, NJ.
The Senate Committee is chaired by Senator Bob Smith (D-Middlesex) and the Assembly Committee is chaired by Assemblywoman L. Grace Spencer (D-Essex). The public hearing is the third held jointly by the environment committees to hear from residents, business owners, advocates and others on the progress of Sandy recovery efforts in the state as the one-year anniversary of the storm approaches. The first hearing was held Aug. 15 in Atlantic City followed by a Sept. 16 hearing in Jersey City.
