Assembly and Senate Environment Committees Join for Final Hearing on Sandy Recovery Status in Toms River
Hearing Will be a Culmination of Four Committee Meetings Held in Sandy-Affected Areas of the StateTRENTON - The Senate Environment and Energy Committee and the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee will hold the final joint hearing on Monday to receive testimony from members of the public and invited guests on New Jersey's Hurricane Sandy rebuilding and recovery efforts.
The committees have extended an invitation to the Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Richard E. Constable III and Marc Ferzan, executive director of the Governor's Office of Recovery and Rebuilding, to speak on the status of Sandy recovery efforts. The hearing will be held Monday, October 21, 2013 at 4 pm in the LMH Room, Toms River Town Hall, 33 Washington Street, Toms River, New Jersey.
The Senate Committee is chaired by Senator Bob Smith (D-Middlesex) and the Assembly Committee is chaired by Assemblywoman L. Grace Spencer (D-Essex). The public hearing is the fourth held jointly by the environment committees to hear from residents, business owners, advocates and others on the progress of Sandy recovery efforts in the state as the one-year anniversary of the storm approaches. Hearings were held on Aug. 15 in Atlantic City, Sept. 16 in Jersey City, and September 27 in Trenton.
