"It is truly an honor to be able to serve the residents of the 38th legislative district in the General Assembly," said Lagana (D-Bergen/Passaic). "My experience at the local level helped me gain first-hand knowledge of the struggles facing everyday families in our state such as affordability, unemployment, and property taxes, just to name a few. I look forward to using this experience to work with my colleagues in the legislature to find solutions to these pressing issues."
Lagana received a bachelor's degree from Fordham University in 2000 and his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2004. He now practices law with the Secaucus-based firm Chasan Leyner & Lamparello, PC.
Lagana served two years as a Paramus councilman, including a term as Council President, where he worked with members of both parties to craft consecutive budgets with no increased spending.
He resides in Paramus with his wife, Jamie, and their two young daughters.
