Schaer on Assembly Budget Committee’s First Public Hearing on Proposed State Budget

Hearing Into $34.4 Billion Budget Proposal Was Held At Montclair State University
(MONTCLAIR) – Assembly Budget Chairman Gary Schaer (D-Bergen/Passaic) issued the following statement Wednesday on the first public hearing held to discuss the proposed state budget for FY15:

“I thank everyone who attended the first of two Assembly Budget Committee public hearings on the proposed fiscal year budget. These hearings provide insight to this committee on a variety of issues affecting every day New Jerseyans.

“This exercise is crucial to ensuring a budget that is equitably balanced. The components of the proposed budget are much more than line items, but rather people and programs who will be impacted, positively or negatively, by our final budget product. These hearings are an opportunity for residents to tell their side of the story.”
