Expanded Learner's Driving Permit Requirements, Protecting Vital Beekeeping Industry, Sandy Relief Oversight, Halfway House Reform & Developmental Center Resident Transfer Moratorium Top Monday Assembly Voting Session

Home Elevation Contractor Oversight, Expanding Medicaid Coverage for Women's Health Care, CPR in Schools, Developers Fee Moratorium, Vacant Property Upkeep, Cigar Bars & Mold Abatement Also on Tap

(TRENTON) - Expanded education requirements for special learner's and examination permits, protecting and promoting New Jersey's vital beekeeping industry, requiring oversight reporting on Hurricane Sandy recovery funds, creating a halfway house reform task force, expanding Medicaid coverage for women's health care and imposing a moratorium on transfers of residents of state developmental centers until certain conditions are met top Monday's Assembly voting session.
Stricter oversight of home elevation contractor, requiring CPR instruction in schools, a moratorium on the developer's fee until 2015, requiring vacant property maintenance and establishing mold abatement procedures are also on tap.

Highlights include:
· A1294 (Andrzejczak/Caride) - Extends Right to Farm Act protections to commercial beekeepers, with some restrictions; A1295 (Andrzejczak/Caride) - Establishes exclusive State regulatory authority over apiary activities and allows for delegation of monitoring and enforcement authority to municipalities; A1296 (Caride) - Establishes penalty for destruction of man-made native bee hive; A2180 (Andrzejczak/Wilson) - Designates Common Eastern Bumble Bee as New Jersey State Native Pollinator, and AR71 (Quijano/Mazzeo) - Urges State residents to support NJ beekeepers by purchasing honey made in NJ.
· A2795 (Johnson/Greenwald/Watson Coleman/Spencer/Pintor Marin/Vainieri Huttle) - Provides Medicaid coverage for family planning services to individuals with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
· A1110 (Vainieri Huttle) - Imposes moratorium on DHS transitions and transfers of residents of State developmental centers until certain conditions are met.
· A1699 (Wisniewski/Lampitt) - Expands education requirements for special learner's and examination permits.
· A2293 (Oliver/Watson Coleman/Quijano) - Requires oversight reporting on Hurricane Sandy recovery funds.
· A2683 (Mainor/Sumter/Wilson) - Establishes "Task Force to Review Residential Community Release Programs" to review this State's halfway houses and make recommendations concerning security and inmate services.
· A-3270 (Cryan) - Provides standards for, and requires registration of, home elevation contractors.
· A2072 (Fuentes) - Requires public school student to receive instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of automated external defibrillator as requirement for high school graduation.
· A1907 - (Burzichelli/Singleton/Lampitt/Wimberly) - Reinstates moratorium on imposition of statewide non-residential development fees until January 2015.
· A1257 (Prieto/Benson/Wimberly/Moriarty) - Creates cause of action for failure to maintain certain vacant properties; requires out-of-state creditors to designate in-State representative.
· A1007 (Benson/Riley) - Requires DCA to establish procedures for inspection and abatement of mold hazards in residential buildings and school facilities, and certification programs for mold inspectors and mold hazard abatement workers.
· A1348 (Stender/McKeon/Quijano) - Requires boil water notices to be provided by certain public water systems via telephone, email or text message.
· A3161 (Lampitt) - Implements current car seat safety recommendations.
· A228 (Gusciora/DeAngelo/Lagana/Garcia/Spencer) - Permits new cigar lounges to be opened under certain circumstances.
