Responsiblities

The Policy and Operations Assistant provides assistance to the Director of Administrative Services and Operations.  Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining legislative documents and records, providing backup to the Administrative staff and various other tasks that help make the office run smoothly.

Background

Sarah Lavine began interning for the Assembly Majority Office in May 2001 while attending Douglass College at Rutgers University.

In addition to interning at the AMO, Mrs. Lavine has interned with the Center for American Women and Politics at Eagleton and the Department of Community Affairs’ Office of Smart Growth. Mrs. Lavine became a full-time member of the office in 2006.

Mrs. Lavine is very active with the New Jersey Odyssey of the Mind, a nationwide program that promotes creativity and problem solving for school-aged children.

Born and raised in Mercer County, Mrs. Lavine now resides in Florence Township, Burlington County with her husband and miniature dachshund, Bailey.

Education

Mrs. Lavine graduated from Douglass College at Rutgers University with a bachelor's in political science and a bachelor's in religion. She received her master's in public policy from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University.
