James Sverapa IV
Deputy Director of New Media and Video Production
The Deputy Director of New Media and Video Production is responsible for developing and maintaining the Democratic caucus' presence on the Web, strategically supplementing traditional public communications through social networking and the production of video packages for consumption by traditional media, new media and the public.
Born in West New York, James Sverapa IV is a New Jersey native who has been involved in Democratic politics since January 2003.
Mr. Sverapa joined the Assembly Majority Office in January 2006 as a press secretary, became video production manager in April 2008 and deputy director of new media and video production in July 2010.
Mr. Sverapa has served in various press, communications and managerial capacities for: former-Senator Garry J. Furnari; the New Jersey Senate Democratic Office; the 2003 campaign of former-Senator Ellen Karcher in District 12; the 2005 campaign of Matt Doherty and Jim Reilly in District 11; and the 2007 campaign of John Napolitani and John Pirnat, also in District 11.
He also has worked in the private sector, as a political and corporate consultant and as a videographer.
Mr. Sverapa is a graduate of The College of New Jersey and holds a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast communication.
