Responsiblities
The Legislative Development and Communications Associate is responsible for coordination between the communications and research departments and assists in the office’s outreach and communications program.
Ms. Taylor serves as the Democratic Aid to the Assembly Consumer Affairs, Regulatory Oversight and Gaming and Agriculture and Natural Resources committees.
Background
Jennifer Taylor was raised in Cape May County, New Jersey. Ms. Taylor began her association with the Assembly Majority Office in 2004 as an undergraduate associate from the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University. After completing her masters, she joined the office full-time as a policy analyst.
In 2007, Ms. Taylor joined the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee as the political operations manager. Prior to the election, she worked as a consultant for the Democratic State Committee on the STEP-UP democratic women’s training, which trained over 150 women in New Jersey to run for public office.
As an undergrad she was an Urban Studies Community Scholar and undergraduate associate at Eagleton. As a graduate student, Ms. Taylor served as an Eagleton Raimondo Fellow.
Ms. Taylor has worked for the Center for American Women and Politics on numerous programs designed to elect more women to public office including: the Forum for Newly Elected Female Legislators; NEW Leadership; Ready to Run; and Pathways to Politics.
Education
Ms. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a masters in Public Administration from the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University. She also attended the Mills College Institute for Civic Leadership as a Citizen Scholar.
