Taliaferro Supports South Harrison Township Community Day

Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro joined South Harrison Township residents Saturday at Stewart Memorial Park to celebrate Community Day, an annual event featuring carnival rides, vendors, food, fireworks and activities for children.

“I would like to thank South Harrison Township for their efforts in organizing an event that brings together so many members of the community,” said Taliaferro (D-Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem). “A Community Day is a wonderful opportunity for families, friends and children to spend quality time together and enjoy the outdoors. This sense of community and family is distinct to many towns throughout Gloucester County, and it is what makes our region a great place to start a family and call home.”

While at the Community Day, Taliaferro visited an informational table for Don’t Bully Us, a non-profit dog rescue organization that fosters pit bull and bully breed rescue dogs for adoption by families. In addition to rescuing the dogs, the organization raises awareness of animal rights issues and educates new dog owners on proper care.

“There are so many animals in the care of local non-profits and our shelters that are in need of a loving family,” said Taliaferro. “If your family is discussing pet adoption, I strongly encourage you to consider a rescue pet or adopting from a shelter. This will not only provide a good home to a pet, but it will allow organizations and shelters to care for more animals and devote resources to where they are needed most.”
