****MEDIA ADVISORY – TUESDAY*** WISNIEWSKI, AAA TO DISCUSS ADDITIONAL WAYS TO IMPROVE TEEN DRIVER SAFETY

Plan to Increase Required Supervised Driving Hours, Parental Involvement

(TRENTON) — Assembly Transportation, Public Works and Independent Authorities Chairman John S. Wisniewski will hold a news conference Tuesday with AAA New Jersey to discuss the group’s recent study on teen driving safety in New Jersey and legislation necessary to address the findings.

The news conference will take place 1:30 p.m., Tuesday October 19, State House Room 109, 125 West State Street, Trenton.

Wisniewski will be joined by representatives from AAA New Jersey, teen driving safety advocates and various other industry officials.

“Being a good driver takes a lot of practice, something we don’t currently require of New Jersey teens,” said Wisniewski (D-Middlesex). “In light of the AAA study and New Jersey’s unique characteristics as a highly traveled corridor state, that must change if we are to remain serious about producing safe, well-educated teen drivers.”
