POU: EVANS WILL LEAVE A STRONG LEGACY

Assemblywoman Nellie Pou (D-Passaic/Bergen) released the following statement Thursday on the decision by Assemblywoman Elease Evans (D-Passaic/Bergen) not to seek re-election to the Assembly:

“Assemblywoman Evans has been more than my colleague representing the people of the 35th Legislative District.
“She has been a strong ally in our fight to improve the lives of the people of Passaic and Bergen counties. She has been a constant inspiration in the fight against poverty. Her passion for improving the quality of life of New Jerseyans was unrelenting.
“Her fight to improve education for our children was remarkable. She was always looking to ensure that we were putting children first and giving children the best opportunity to get the reDests and funding they need to succeed.
“Assemblywoman Evans will always be my friend and I will miss her partnership in the Assembly, but fortunately her strong work on behalf of New Jersey residents will be a lasting legacy.”
