(TRENTON) – The Assembly Tourism and the Arts Committee will meet Monday aboard New Jersey’s official tall ship hear testimony from invited guests about the Bayshore Discovery Project and its tourism partner programs around the state.
The meeting will take place on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at 1 p.m. on the A.J. Meerwald tall ship, which will docked in Trenton at Waterfront Park at Route 29 and Cass Street The dock may be accessed from the sidewalk located between Riverview Plaza and Waterfront Park.
“This is wonderful opportunity to learn about the efforts of the Bayshore Discovery Project to draw visitors interested in the Delaware Bay’s culture, history and ecology and how we in the state government can assist in these efforts,” said Assembly Tourism and Arts Chairman Matthew W. Milam (D-Atlantic/Cape May/Cumberland). “And the backdrop could not be more appropriate. We’ll be aboard the A.J. Meerwald, an authentically restored oyster schooner and New Jersey’s Official Tall Ship, used as a classroom for stewardship of the Delaware Estuary and its environs.”
Established in 1988, the Bayshore Discovery Project aims to motivate people to take care of the environment, history and the culture of New Jersey’s Bayshore region through education, preservation and example.
