(TRENTON) – Assemblymen John Armato and Vince Mazzeo (both D-Atlantic) released the following joint statement in response to new Small Business Lease – Emergency Grant Assistance Program announced today by Governor Phil Murphy, which will assist small business owners impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with lease costs:
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. With many businesses forced to close their doors for months because of the pandemic, it’s been difficult for mom-and-pop shops, Main Street stores and other small businesses to keep the lights on. This is especially true in tourist destinations like Atlantic City, which have understandably seen less visitors this season than in past summers.
“We are pleased to see Governor Murphy stepping up to help small businesses during this challenging time. An investment in our small businesses is a direct investment into our communities. We must do all we can to help small businesses survive this storm and thrive in our recovery.”
