Assembly Environment Chair Pinkin: Joining the State Zero-Emission Vehicles Programs MOU, Good for New Jersey

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin (D-Middlesex), who is chair of the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee, issued the following statement on the state’s recent signing of the multi-state agreement to encourage clean vehicles and expressing support for current federal emission standards:

“Our warming climate is a real thing. Its effects on storm intensities and unpredictable weather are also very real. And reducing air pollution from fuel emissions is the key to addressing the environmental effects of global warming. The current White House may deny these things, but here in New Jersey, we won’t.

“New Jersey remains committed to upholding current federal fuel emission standards that have set the right pace toward cleaner air and strengthening environmental protections for the state. This includes continuing to encourage the production and purchase of clean vehicles in this state.”
