Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Johnson Statement on New Port Authority Bus Terminal

(TRENTON) In response to the announcement of the advancement of plans to construct a new and larger Port Authority Bus Terminal on the current site adjacent to major subway lines, Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Gordon Johnson (D-Bergen) issued the following statement Thursday:

“New Jerseyans deserve quality, reliable mass transit options. The construction of an expanded Port Authority Bus Terminal is welcomed news for thousands of New Jersey commuters, including residents of Bergen County. This project will result in easier access to rail and bus lines while maintaining one-seat rides that are the preferred mode of transportation for New Jerseyans travelling to and from New York City. It is critical that we continue to seek ways to improve the daily commute for our residents while providing convenience, safety and a better overall experience. This is a great step forward for our commuters.”
