Assemblyman Egan Statement on Retirement

Assemblyman Joe Egan (D-Middlesex, Somerset) issued the following statement on his decision not to continue seeking re-election in the Assembly:

“After thoughtful deliberation, I have decided not to continue seeking re-election in the Assembly. For over twenty years, I have fought for the people of New Jersey, sponsoring legislation to improve working conditions and advocating on behalf of our union members. It has been a great honor to serve in the General Assembly for so many years, working with the Democratic caucus to advance the goals of our party. While I am proud of the work I’ve accomplished serving the 17th legislative district, I look forward to spending more time with my family and focusing on my position at Local 456.”
