Assemblywoman Downey on SNAP Online Grocery Shopping

(TRENTON) – As of this week, citizens in Monmouth County will be able to use their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to order groceries online form five Super Foodtown grocery stores.

Assemblywoman Joann Downey (D-Monmouth), Chair of the Assembly Human Services Committee, issued the following statement:

“Some residents, for many different reasons, have difficulty shopping for food because they are unable to get to grocery stores.  Allowing residents enrolled in SNAP to order groceries online will tremendously help families in Monmouth County put healthy foods on their tables.  We have seen how helpful online grocery shopping can be and those in need of SNAP assistance will now have greater options to provide food for their families.”
