Beach, Greenwald & Lampitt to Host May 16th Job Fair

Sixth District Legislators Bring Local Employers, Job-Seekers Together in Cherry Hill Event

(CHERRY HILL)–Today Senator James Beach, Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt (all D-Camden/Burlington), announced they will host a job fair for area residents. This event will bring together a diverse mix of local employers looking to hire, as well as helpful state services for unemployed individuals and struggling families.

The job fair will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in the Cherry Hill National Guard Armory, 2001 Park Blvd., Cherry Hill 08002. For planning purposes, those wishing to attend are asked to register online or by calling (856) 435-1247.

“In these tough economic times, many New Jerseyans are struggling to find a job,” said Beach. “Our Sixth District job fair will feature a wide variety of employers looking to hire, as well as a number of state agencies that provide valuable assistance to families struggling to make ends meet.”

“With New Jersey’s unemployment rate still higher than the national average and those of our neighboring states, it is more important than ever that we bring local employers together with area residents looking for work,” said Greenwald. “We hope this event will bring some help to the middle-class families of the Sixth District who need it the most.”

“Connecting local businesses more closely with our incredibly talented pool of local employees has always been a focus of mine as an elected official,” said Lampitt. “This event will accomplish that goal, assisting our residents during a difficult economy.”

Residents wishing to attend are asked to dress in appropriate professional attire and to bring sufficient copies of their resume for prospective employers.

Employers in the financial services, health care, administrative, manufacturing, public safety, education, non-profit and other industries will be in attendance.

A list of the employers expected to attend will be posted on the legislators’ Facebook pages closer to the event.
