BEACH, GREENWALD & LAMPITT TO SPONSOR BLOOD DRIVE

As NJ Recovers from Irene, Sixth District Legislators Partner with Community Groups

(VOORHEES)–Today Senator James Beach, Assemblyman Louis Greenwald and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt (all D-Camden) announced that they are partnering with the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to host a blood drive. The blood drive will take place Wednesday, September 7th from 1:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Katz Jewish Community Center.

“In the wake of natural disasters like Hurricane Irene, one of the most important things a citizen who wants to help his or her neighbors can do is to give blood,” said Beach. “We are partnering with these community groups to further that goal in a time of true need.”

“The medical evidence is clear: blood transfusions truly do save lives,” said Greenwald. “Less than two months ago, the Red Cross announced blood donation levels were at an historic low. We hope this event will be a small step to remedy that, in addition to bringing our community together.”

“We’re proud to be a part of bringing the community together to help those in need,” said Lampitt. “The JCRC and Ahmadiyya deserve tremendous respect and praise for their hard work to make this event a success.”

The Katz Jewish Community Center is located at the intersection of Kresson and Springdale roads in Cherry Hill.
