Benson on Assembly Hearing Focused on Improving Equity, Access to Transportation for NJ Workforce

Chairman Daniel Benson (D-Mercer, Middlesex) issued the following statement upon the conclusion of Monday’s Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee public hearing:

“Transportation is a fundamental need for New Jersey’s workforce. We need to do all we can to guarantee families are able to put food on the table and businesses have the tools they need to thrive by helping employees get between their home and workplace – and everywhere in between.

“This session, it will be our priority to ensure greater efficacy and equality in every area of our transportation infrastructure. We will continue our efforts to break down barriers to equitable access by reducing any regional, economic or other disparities facing residents. Today’s testimony demonstrated the importance of this issue and highlighted areas in which we can work together to improve transportation equitability going forward.”
