BURZICHELLI BILL TO STREAMLINE STATE GOVERNMENT BY ELIMINATING UNNEEDED STATE BOARDS ADVANCED BY ASSEMBLY PANEL

Legislation Assemblyman John Burzichelli sponsored to help streamline state government by getting rid of inactive boards, commissions, committees and task forces was advanced Thursday by an Assembly panel. The bill (A-2851) is part of Burzichelli’s ongoing efforts to make government more efficient to cut costs and improve New Jersey’s business climate.

“These boards and panels litter state government but no longer serve any purpose,” said Burzichelli (D-Gloucester/Cumberland/Salem). “They’ve either served their purpose, been inactive for years, no longer have a role to fulfill, completed their work, not been convened for a long period of time or were never organized. It’s time to say farewell to these unneeded state agencies as we look to streamline our government and make it more efficient for the benefit of taxpayers and businesses.”
