Burzichelli: Our FY2020 Budget Proposal is Fiscally Responsible and Meets the Priorities of New Jersey Residents

In advance of the Assembly voting on the Fiscal Year 2020 State Budget, Assemblyman and Vice-Chair of the Budget Committee John Burzichelli (D-Gloucester, Cumberland, Salem) issued the following statement:

“The budget being voted on today in the Assembly supports seniors, veterans and New Jerseyans working hard each day to get by. Our spending plan builds upon the priorities set by the Governor in his proposal without the need for tax increases. Matter of fact, it includes an unprecedented $175 million in tax relief.

“With funding allocated for Charity Care, Work First New Jersey, a record expenditure to community food banks and money that will enable SNAP to help more residents with utility bills — the Legislature has absolutely prioritized working class families in this budget.”
