Caputo Hails Murphy Nomination of Muoio as State Treasurer

(BELLEVILLE) – Assemblyman Ralph Caputo (D-Essex) released the following statement Wednesday on Gov.-elect Phil Murphy’s nomination of Assemblywoman Elizabeth Maher Muoio as the next state treasurer:

“This is a great call by Gov.-elect Murphy. I will miss working with Asw. Muoio in the Assembly, but she is smart and talented and will be a great asset to the Murphy administration. She will also be a great steward of taxpayer money. It’s a strong choice.
“It’s been a joy to watch Liz’s success in the Assembly. Asw. Muoio hit the ground running in 2015 and immediately became a leading voice in our caucus and a sponsor of key legislation. Her leadership on protecting children from lead poisoning, for instance, was second to none. She is the right choice at the right time. The Assembly’s loss will be the people of New Jersey’s gain.”
