(Trenton) – Assemblyman Ralph R. Caputo released the following statement on the recent passing of Phil Thigpen:
“I had the pleasure of serving with Chairman Thigpen in Essex for many years. We served side by side during the good and the most challenging times.
“One thing I know for certain is that Mr. Thigpen’s exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication to the people of Essex County was a driving force for equality and justice in North Jersey. His life and purpose as a public servant will stand as an exceptional example for all of us in this line of work. We have lost a great leader in New Jersey politics and government.
“My sincere condolences and prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
