Caputo: Place Your Bets. Sports Gaming in NJ is Now Law

(TRENTON) – Assembly Tourism, Gaming, and the Arts Committee Chairman Ralph Caputo (D-Essex), a longtime advocate of legalized sports gaming in New Jersey, welcomed news that the sports betting bill (A-4111) he sponsored was signed into law on Monday by Gov. Murphy.

“This is truly a great day for New Jersey.

“For far too long, New Jersey was left in the shadows with regards to this issue due to an antiquated, and unconstitutional federal law. We knew this was unfair, we fought back and today we made it official.

“This will help bring more people and revenue to the Meadowlands and Atlantic City and countless other places in our state, not to mention additional revenue for our state budget.

“I commend all those who advocated and worked tirelessly over the years for our right to provide legalized sports gaming in the Garden State, and Gov. Murphy for sealing the deal.

“This is a game changer for New Jersey.”
