Caputo Working to Help Essex Residents Recover from Sandy

28th District Legislator Also Provides List of Important Contact Info for Residents & Businesses

(28th LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT) – Assemblyman Ralph Caputo (D-Essex) has been working around the clock to help storm-battered residents in the 28th legislative district deal with a myriad of issues as New Jersey continues to recover from Superstorm Sandy.

Specifically, Caputo has been touring his district, working with local officials through the Office of Emergency Management, participating in conference calls with local officials from throughout the 28th district and reaching out to the Governor’s Office directly for help with specific issues. Caputo has reached out to the mayors in the district and said he will meet with Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker and Senator Ron Rice on Friday to discuss lingering problems and try to find a solution to improve communication between local officials and PSE&G, which has been problematic.

“Essentially, we have been serving as a triage center for constituents,” said Caputo. “We have been trying to work within the system as best as we can and deal with problems directly whenever possible. We are here to serve and help and encourage residents to contact us if they have any problem resolving issues or getting information.”

In addition to encouraging residents to contact his office if they are having problems, the lawmaker also provided a listing of important emergency contact information to help residents address their needs directly:
