Carter Stands Alongside New Jersey’s Legislative Black Caucus to Condemn Race Mongering from President Trump

Following a press conference held by New Jersey’s Legislative Black Caucus today to address President Trump’s hateful and misogynistic comments directed at four Congresswomen, Assemblywoman Linda Carter (D-Middlesex, Somerset, Union) released the following statement:

“I stand with the Squad in Congress. I stand with Congresswomen Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley. I stand with the sentiment that racism cannot and will not be tolerated in this country, our country.

“Together these women stood, like we as the Legislative Black Caucus of New Jersey stand, to condemn the hateful rhetoric that Donald Trump continues to imbue. Together we tell you it is our job now, as Americans, to continue the fight against all those who work to tear down and dismantle our democracy.

“Bigotry must be met with unwavering poise, focus and strength in order for us to preserve the very founding ideals of our nation. We must show that hatred and racism have no place here.”
