Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee Chair Herb Conaway, Jr., M.D. released the following statement on Thursday’s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of King v. Burwell:
“I’m very pleased that the Supreme Court once again upheld the Affordable Care Act as the law of the land. Today’s ruling affirms what we know to be good public policy and good for public health – which is that quality, affordable health care should be accessible to everyone, no matter where you live.
“This is particularly good news for the 182,000 New Jerseyans whose ability to renew an affordable plan through the marketplace hung in the balance. The Supreme Court’s ruling ensures that these New Jersey residents will continue to have uninterrupted access to screenings and preventive care that will save lives and dollars.”
