Coughlin Applauds YES Network & Comcast Resolution

(TRENTON) – Assemblyman Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement applauding the recent deal between the YES Network and Comcast Communications:

“I am glad to see the dispute between the YES Network and Comcast has been resolved and an end to the blackout is in sight.

“Hopefully, customers will be able to enjoy uninterrupted service for a while and not have to endure, in the near future, a lengthy service blackout.

“Yankees’ and Nets’ fans are delighted they will be able to watch their team play this season on Comcast from the comfort of their own homes or provide it to their patrons. Thousands of residents, including myself, look forward to enjoying our watching professional sports games on our preferred network with friends and family.”

Coughlin introduced legislation last April (AR-143) urging a resolution between the two parties that had blacked out several million Tri-State viewers from watching the Yankees. The resolution passed the Assembly, 59-0-7 and was filed with the Secretary of State in May of last year.
