CRYAN: CHRISTIE SHOULD COME TO THE TABLE AT ONCE

Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Cryan today called on Governor Christie to begin collective bargaining negotiations at once in light of the comments he delivered at a Hillsborough Town Hall Meeting.

“From his remarks today, all the way back to the 2009 campaign trail, the Governor has expressed a desire to take part in collective bargaining negotiations and a belief that he can do better.

“Well the time to come to the table is now and he should begin these negotiations in good faith at once.

“Nobody is keeping him locked in a proverbial ‘cage’ as he has said. The door is open and the time to begin is now.

“Our police, our firefighters and all of our dedicated public servants deserve the chance to take part in a meaningful exchange of ideas rather than being pitted against senior citizens in a battle for state funding.”
