Danielsen District Office to Reopen in Somerset

New Headquarters Will Replace Location Destroyed in March Building Fire

Assemblyman Joseph Danielsen will open a new district office on Thursday, April 23 in Somerset.

The office, located at 334 Elizabeth Avenue, Somerset, NJ 08873, will be available to residents of the 17th legislative district, which includes Franklin, New Brunswick, North Brunswick, Piscataway and Milltown. A fire in March destroyed the Franklin Township commercial building in which Danielsen’s former office and a number of businesses were located.

“My staff has been tremendously patient and flexible, making themselves available via phones and email, offering extended hours and setting up temporary mobile offices at local libraries, senior centers and community events,” said Danielsen (D-Middlesex/Somerset). “We are grateful for all the support we have received from the Office of Legislative Services and the local community during this time.”

Danielsen noted that he and his staff have maintained steady operation since the March 6 fire, providing aid to residents and planning a job fair scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 at The Imperia in Somerset. Individuals and employers interested in participating in the job fair may contact Joe Forte at 732-247-3999 for further details.

“What we learned most from this experience is that public service isn’t about a physical location; it’s about an attitude,” said Danielsen. “As always, our top priority over the last six weeks has been to provide constituents with the services they need, and nothing about that will change when we move into our new office space.”
