DIEGNAN: CLEARLY THERE’S STILL A LEVEL OF ACCOUNTABILITY LACKING

Assembly Education Committee Chair Patrick J. Diegnan, Jr. today released the following statement on Governor Christie’s dismissal of Education Commissioner Bret Schundler:

“It’s important to remember that it was the Governor’s own edict that ultimately cost our students $400 million in desperately needed funding.

“The collaborative priorities carefully negotiated by Bret Schundler in the original application were ordered scrapped at the eleventh hour by Governor Christie. Bret Schundler is the one being asked to bear responsibility, and while that is appropriate, clearly there’s still a level of accountability lacking,” said Diegnan (D-Middlesex).
