EGAN: TRUE ECONOMIC RECOVERY REQUIRES ONLY ONE CRUCIAL INGREDIENT – JOBS

(TRENTON) – Assembly Labor Chairman Joseph V. Egan (D-Middlesex) said Thursday that job creation was the crucial ingredient in jumpstarting New Jersey’s economic recovery, as a special Assembly committee convened to discuss ways to bolster New Jersey’s weakened economy.
Egan released the following statement:

“With unemployment in the state hovering near 10 percent, the best economic stimulus we can provide is a job.
“People on the unemployment rolls aren’t looking for a handout from the state. They are looking for a way to go back to work.
“If we want to successfully jumpstart our march out of this economic recession, we must find a way to create new job opportunities in the state, because economic recovery starts and ends with one thing – employment.”
