(TRENTON) – Assemblymen Tim Eustace and Joseph Lagana (both D-Bergen/Passaic) issued the following statement after the announcement that an agreement had been reached on the FY 2018 budget:
“While we wish this disruption could have been avoided, we are happy that Speaker Prieto stood firm and a settlement that protects our Democratic priorities and the interest of Horizon ratepayers has been reached. This was never about winning for us; this was about protecting residents against a bill that had the potential to do real harm. We have an obligation to do what is right for the residents of this state. This resolution honors that by protecting funding for important social services that should have never been on the governor’s chopping block.
