FUENTES, HOST COMMITTEE ANNOUNCE FOURTH ANNUAL HISPANIC LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

(AUDUBON) – Assemblyman Angel Fuentes (D-Camden/Gloucester) launched the Fourth Annual Hispanic Leadership Summit, scheduled for September 20, 2014. Fuentes was accompanied by other members of the Hispanic Leadership Association of New Jersey Host Committee, who announced another year of providing scholarships for incoming Rowan University freshmen.

“For the fourth year in a row, the Hispanic Leadership Summit will offer a wealth of resources to the entire Hispanic community,” said Assemblyman Fuentes. “Thanks to the hard work of the Hispanic Leadership Association of New Jersey Host Committee, we are expecting to deliver our most exciting summit to date.”

Assemblyman Fuentes has chaired the Hispanic Leadership Summits to increase dialogue between members of the Hispanic community from all sectors, to help non-profit organizations access all level of government, to strengthen civic awareness, and to facilitate citizen participation in the electoral process. This year’s summit will be the third in a row hosted at Rowan University.

“We are pleased to have been able to strengthen our partnership with the Hispanic Leadership Summit these past few years,” said Dr. Houshmand. “Our community recognizes the value in strengthening cultural awareness and of educating people about how best to engage their leaders. We are proud to host the Summit in its fourth year.”

The theme of this year’s Summit is Hispanics Driven by a Purpose: Making our Mark. There are invaluable workshops for individuals to take advantage of, each designed to enhance the discussion of strengthening the Hispanic voice in New Jersey.

“Hispanics have the power to ‘Make Our Mark’ when we unite towards a shared goal,” Assemblyman Fuentes went on to say. “This year’s dynamic workshops, keynote speakers, and program are all designed to help participants identify and achieve their goals.”

Events include prominent Hispanic political, business and religious leaders from throughout the state and country, as well veterans, college students, non-profit organizations and more.
