Fuentes: Notable Speakers Mark 4th Annual Hispanic Leadership Summit

(AUDUBON) – Assemblyman Angel Fuentes (D-Camden/Gloucester) has announced that this weekend’s Fourth Annual Hispanic Leadership Gala will feature noted speakers from New Jersey and Puerto Rico. Keynote Speaker Vincent Prieto, Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly, will address the gala after being introduced by Senator Donald Norcross.

Joining them are New Jersey Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Puerto Rico’s Senate President Eduardo Bhatia, who have announced a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a student exchange between New Jersey and Puerto Rico.

“I want to personally thank the Hispanic Leadership Association of New Jersey Host Committee, who have delivered our most exciting summit to date, and another sold out Gala,” said Assemblyman Fuentes. “For the fourth year in a row, the Hispanic Leadership Summit will offer a wealth of resources to the entire Hispanic community. I am also truly grateful to all our distinguished guests who will be joining us.”

Assemblyman Fuentes founded the Hispanic Leadership Summit to increase dialogue between members of the Hispanic community from all sectors, to help non-profit organizations access all level of government, to strengthen civic awareness, and to facilitate citizen participation in the electoral process.

The theme of the Summit is Hispanics Driven by a Purpose: Making our Mark. There are invaluable workshops for individuals to take advantage of, each designed to enhance the discussion of strengthening the Hispanic voice in New Jersey.

“Hispanics have the power to ‘Make Our Mark’ when we unite towards a shared goal,” Assemblyman Fuentes went on to say. “This year’s dynamic workshops, keynote speakers, and program are all designed to help participants identify and achieve their goals.”

This year’s summit is the third in a row hosted at Rowan University. The Hispanic Leadership Association of New Jersey, the organization behind the Summit, is providing nine scholarships to Hispanic students enrolled in, or slated to attend Rowan University.

“Dr. Houshmand and Rowan University have been tremendous partners in this endeavor,” Assemblyman Fuentes extolled.
