Fuentes: Teacher for a Day

Assemblyman spends morning with HB Wilson 4th Graders

(CAMDEN) — Assemblyman Angel Fuentes (D-Camden/Gloucester) spent Monday morning as a teacher at the HB Wilson Elementary School in the Morgan Village section of Camden.

“It was great to meet the young men in Mr. Zahn’s 4th Grade class and to be a part of their learning experience today,” said Assemblyman Fuentes. “Mr. Zahn and Mr. Tapper work tirelessly every day to educate and help guide their students. They’re remarkable.”

Assemblyman Fuentes taught the students about his job responsibilities and how a bill becomes a law in New Jersey. He also read to them from Beverly Cleary’s The Mouse and the Motorcycle and gave the students their spelling words for the week.

“I had a great opportunity today to get a glimpse into the important work teachers do every day,” Assemblyman Fuentes added. “I appreciate the school for working with me to make this happen, and for the teachers who helped me prepare for the day.”

The Teach for a Day program was coordinated by Camden Education Association under the leadership of LaVerne Harvey, president of the organization.
