Fuentes to Launch 3rd Annual Hispanic Leadership Summit

(AUDUBON) – Assemblyman Angel Fuentes (D-Camden/Gloucester) will be hosting a press conference on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the New Jersey Statehouse to launch the Third Annual Hispanic Leadership Summit, scheduled for September 28, 2013. Fuentes will be accompanied by members of the Host Committee, who will be announcing $15,000 in scholarships to incoming Rowan University freshmen.

Assemblyman Fuentes has chaired the Hispanic Leadership Summits to increase dialogue between members of the Hispanic community from all sectors, to help non-profit organizations access all level of government, to strengthen civic awareness, and to facilitate citizen participation in the electoral process. The events have included prominent Hispanic political, business and religious leaders from throughout the state and country, as well veterans, college students, non-profit organizations and more.

The theme of this year’s Summit is Honoring Our Past, which looks back at those who have opened the doors for today’s Hispanic community to grow and succeed. There are currently 12 invaluable workshops for individuals to take advantage of, with Summit organizers expecting more to come.

Fuentes is thankful to the Host Committee members who have worked diligently to make this and previous Summits as successful as they’ve been.
