(CLIFTON) – Assemblyman Thomas P. Giblin has been appointed chairman of the Assembly Regulated Professions Committee by Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver.

The Regulated Professions Committee is responsible for monitoring, updating and amending laws dealing with licensed professions, such as architects or electricians.

“I know well Assemblyman Giblin’s commitment and dedication to New Jerseyans,” said Oliver. “I’m certain he will rightfully steer the committee on policies that will enhance these professions and safeguard the interests of our residents.”

“I’m thankful for the confidence that the Speaker and the leadership have placed in me to lead this committee,” said Giblin. “New Jersey has one of the most highly educated workforces in the nation, which is a tremendous draw for businesses. I look forward to working with my fellow committee members on legislation to support our talented professionals and keep New Jersey competitive, as well as maintain a thorough system of checks and balances to protect our residents.”

Giblin has also been appointed vice chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee, and member of the Assembly Transportation, Public Works and Independent Authorities Committee.
