GORDON, WAGNER, EUSTACE CONDEMN LATEST ANTI-SEMITIC ATTACK IN BERGEN COUNTY

Senator Bob Gordon, Assemblywoman Connie Wagner and Assemblyman-elect Tim Eustace (all D-Bergen) released the following joint statement on Wednesday after reports of another attack on the Jewish community in Bergen County:

“Last week’s anti-Semitic attacks on synagogues in Maywood and Hackensack were truly disturbing. Today, the Bergen County Prosecutor has begun an investigation into an arson attack at a temple in Paramus.

“These attacks on the Jewish community, and our community at-large, must stop at once. We echo the sentiments of Congressman Steve Rothman and hope that those performing such acts of violence and intolerance are dealt with in a swift and strong manner.

“We cannot and should not allow such hateful and terroristic acts towards our fellow New Jerseyans to go unpunished. Anyone found guilty of these attacks should be prosecuted to the fullest extent under our existing hate crimes laws,” said Gordon, Wagner and Eustace.
