GREENSTEIN: CHRISTIE VETO ‘ASTONISHINGLY MEAN-SPIRITED & UNFAIR’

Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein (D-Middlesex/Mercer), the sponsor of legislation (A-20) that would have eliminated Gov. Christie’s cuts to property tax relief for senior and disabled citizens and guaranteed the elimination of new and increased prescription drug fees, released the following statement Thursday on the governor’s veto:

“Instead of compromising to find a way to help more than 600,000 senior and disabled residents with their property tax relief, Gov. Christie has chosen to protect millionaires. Instead of working together to find a better way, Gov. Christie has chosen to balance the budget on the backs of elderly residents struggling to make ends meet. This veto is astonishingly mean-spirited and unfair.”
