“The lady ‘Iron Mikes’ have worked diligently throughout this season as individuals and as a team to take home the Tournament of Champions title for our community. During the pep rally, the team and its coaches will be presented with a resolution from the New Jersey State Legislature to commemorate their victory. Each player also will be given an official citation to commemorate the event.

“This team of outstanding young ladies has set a great example for other students in athletics. They have demonstrated the value of hard-work, dedication, teamwork, and perseverance that has led them to this tremendous victory,” said DeAngelo (D-Hamilton.)

“As one of only two teams in the area to have their name placed on the Tournament of Champions trophy, the Trenton Catholic Academy team has proven themselves to be a top team not only in our state but in the country,” said Greenstein (D-Plainsboro.)

Following the victory, the TCA team was ranked number four in the country in USA Today’s Super 25 national rankings. The team was previously unranked. The team also set a school-record this year by winning 29 games during the season.
