Greenwald: Christie Continues Cavorting Out-of-State Instead of Focusing on Jobs & Middle-Class in New Jersey

(TRENTON) – New Jersey Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-Camden/Burlington) released the following statement Wednesday after Gov. Christie took yet another out-of-state trip instead of focusing on New Jersey’s historically high, fourth-worst-in-the-nation 9.9 percent unemployment rate:
“At a time when nearly one in every ten New Jerseyans is unemployed, Chris Christie would rather bolster his national profile instead of focusing on New Jersey’s struggling economy.
“Chris Christie seems desperate to flee from New Jersey’s fourth-worst-in-the-country unemployment rate, but New Jersey needs a governor devoted to helping the middle-class, not on advancing his own national political ambitions.
“Even as many of the states he has visited are experiencing real economic comebacks, Chris Christie back at home in New Jersey obstructed a plan to triple funding for middle-class property tax relief credits and rejected bipartisan job-creation bills.
“It seems as though Chris Christie is more interested in the snaring the bright national spotlight than he is in rolling up his sleeves to help middle-class New Jersey families.”
