Greenwald: Christie’s Empty Words Can’t Hide His Middle-Class Assault

(TRENTON) – Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-Camden/Burlington) released the following statement on Tuesday as Gov. Christie spoke in Elmwood Park:

“Gov. Christie’s desperate attempt to convince people he supports the middle-class would make a good punch line, except there’s nothing funny about his unrelenting assault on New Jersey’s working families.
“This governor has rejected plans to triple property tax relief credits, cut funding for women’s health care and rejected numerous bipartisan job creation initiatives, all while protecting tax breaks for the mega-rich time and working to elect anti-middle class Republicans.
“Gov. Christie’s anti-middle class actions and the results of his failed policies – a 9.8 percent unemployment rate and a net 20 percent property tax hike – speak louder than his empty words and discredited slogans.”
