Greenwald on Christie Unhinged

(TRENTON) – Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-Camden/Burlington) released the following statement on Gov. Christie’s Wednesday comments in Trenton toward nonpartisan legislative staff:

“The governor is now in full-fledged panic mode, lashing out at anyone who dares question him and present facts that show his so-called New Jersey Comeback is a cruel myth.
“The governor’s comments toward Dr. Rosen are especially troubling. This is yet another example of the governor’s reprehensible use of name-calling whenever things don’t break his way. While some people run from the truth, numbers don’t lie, and once again the governor is ignoring basic facts – such as how the Office of Legislative Services has been more accurate than the executive branch in forecasting revenues.
“Dr. Rosen works for the entire Legislature, and has never let partisanship seep into his forecasting and advice. I implore Republicans lawmakers to join us in repudiating the governor’s unprofessional remarks.
“Gov. Christie is clearly more concerned about his national image than governing this state, so it’s time for the governor to take a step back, compose himself and join our fight to protect New Jersey’s middle-class and seniors, most notably by providing significant property tax relief rather than more tax cuts that favor the uber-rich.”
